The Safe Schools and Educational Access Act ensures that public schools and higher education institutions in North Carolina do not deny admission or participation based on a student's national origin or immigration status. It prohibits these institutions from requiring proof of immigration status for admission or enrollment. The act also restricts immigration authorities from conducting enforcement actions on school grounds or campuses unless mandated by a judicial warrant, court order, or state or federal law.
