NC Economic Forecasting Initiative

Establishes the North Carolina Economic Forecasting Initiative to collect and provide economic data.

The bill creates the North Carolina Economic Forecasting Initiative within the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Initiative will collect and provide economic data to North Carolina policymakers, businesses, community colleges, economic developers, and other stakeholders. It aims to foster sustainable growth, attract new industry, and create opportunities for all North Carolina residents. The Initiative will report annually starting December 1, 2026. The bill appropriates $3,000,000 in recurring funds beginning with the 2026-2027 fiscal year.
