The Minors Health Protection Act allows minors to consent to medical treatments for venereal disease, pregnancy, substance abuse, and emotional disturbance without parental consent. Health care practitioners can examine minors without parental consent if they suspect abuse or neglect. Parents can access their minor child's medical records, except in cases where the release is prohibited by court order or if the parent is under investigation for a crime against the child. The act becomes effective October 1, 2025.
