Town of Garner/Settlement of Claims

Allows the Town of Garner's town manager to settle certain claims against the town.

This bill amends the Charter of the Town of Garner to authorize the town council to delegate to the town manager the power to settle claims against the town for personal injury, property damage, eminent domain cases, and debts owed to the town, provided the amount involved does not exceed ten thousand dollars. The town attorney must approve all settlements, which must be reported to the town council. The act becomes effective upon enactment.
