North Carolina S70 appropriates $2 million to stabilize the old Carver School in Wendell.

North Carolina S70 allocates $2 million from the General Fund to the Town of Wendell for the stabilization of the old Carver School, owned by Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The funds will be used for community engagement, construction drawings, and the rehabilitation of the site into a comprehensive community center. This center will include a business incubator, technology center, gymnasium, performance space, and classrooms. The project is a partnership with Pleasant Grove CDC and Wake County. The act becomes effective July 1, 2025.
