Allocates funds to local school administrative units to improve energy efficiency in public school buildings and replace combustion-powered school buses with electric-powered buses. One billion dollars will be used for energy efficiency improvements, including installing high-efficiency lighting, weatherizing doors and windows, and upgrading HVAC systems. Another 250 million dollars will be used to install solar photovoltaic panels on school buildings and 250 million dollars to replace old school buses with new electric-powered buses. The act becomes effective July 1, 2025.
