North Carolina S611 permits individuals to renew their drivers licenses remotely on two consecutive occasions if they are not compliant with the REAL ID Act. After two remote renewals, a non-REAL ID compliant license must be renewed in person. This act applies to licenses renewed on or after January 1, 2026.
