The Michael Jordans of Tomorrow Act allows North Carolina colleges to directly compensate student-athletes for interscholastic athletics, up to $20.5 million annually from athletics revenues. It establishes a North Carolina NIL Clearinghouse to facilitate NIL agreements, provide support, and prioritize in-state college students. High school students committing to North Carolina colleges can also enter NIL agreements. The act provides a tax credit for businesses with NIL agreements and creates a Joint Legislative Study Committee to explore NIL revenue sharing.
