North Carolina S508 amends the state's education code to establish a pathway for teachers holding limited licenses to convert to continuing professional licenses. This change applies to teachers whose limited licenses are expiring and who have available growth data from the Education Value-Added Assessment System (EVAAS). To qualify, teachers must have a positive average growth score for two out of the three most recent years. For teachers with a negative average growth score but meeting the expected growth level, the local board of education may request a renewal of the limited license.
