North Carolina S485 prohibits the intentional release of polluting emissions into the atmosphere to alter temperature, weather, or sunlight intensity.

North Carolina S485 amends state law to prohibit the intentional release of polluting emissions, including stratospheric aerosol injection, cloud seeding, and electromagnetic radio frequency emissions, into the atmosphere to alter temperature, weather, or sunlight intensity. The Environmental Management Commission is tasked with adopting rules to implement this act. This prohibition does not apply to the application of pesticides via aircraft under a license issued by the Pesticide Board. The act is effective upon becoming law.
