The bill establishes the Sewer Repair Task Force to review and assess the current state of wastewater infrastructure in North Carolina, develop strategies for wastewater treatment projects, and identify funding mechanisms. The Task Force consists of 18 members appointed by legislative leaders and other officials. The bill also appropriates $50 million in nonrecurring funds for the 2025-2026 fiscal year to the South Granville Water and Sewer Authority for wastewater facility expansion, upgrades to meet new federal standards, water meter modernization, and lead pipe replacement.
