North Carolina S398 prohibits carrying dangerous weapons at voting places and within 100 feet of them.

North Carolina S398 makes it illegal to possess or carry dangerous weapons at voting places, within 100 feet of them, or while in line to vote. This prohibition applies only while the location is open and being used as a voting place. Violators face a Class 1 misdemeanor. Law enforcement officers acting in their official duties are exempt from this prohibition. The law takes effect on December 1, 2025.
