North Carolina S35 modifies the duties of the Northeastern Workforce Development Board, which serves Dare, Currituck, Camden, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Chowan, Gates, Hyde, Tyrrell, and Washington Counties. The bill updates the board's responsibilities to include designating, through a competitive selection process, the providers of adult and dislocated worker services authorized in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. This change is to be implemented by July 1, 2014, and annually thereafter. The act takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
