North Carolina S320 provides an additional special separation allowance option for state and local law enforcement officers with at least thirty.

North Carolina S320 introduces a new special separation allowance option for state and local law enforcement officers who have completed at least thirty years of creditable service. The allowance is calculated based on the officer's years of service and is paid in equal installments. Officers must have completed at least five years of continuous service as a law enforcement officer to qualify. The allowance is not affected by other retirement benefits and ceases upon the officer's death or when they reach 62 years of age.
