Increases fees for vehicle safety inspections in North Carolina.

The bill raises the fees for vehicle safety inspections in North Carolina. It increases the fee for a safety-only inspection from $12.75 to $29.15 and for an emissions and safety inspection from $23.75 to $40.15. The fee for an electronic inspection authorization rises from $0.85 to $6.25. The fee for inspecting after-factory tinted windows is set at $10.00. The bill also allows vehicles that fail an inspection to be reinspected within 60 days without additional fees. The changes take effect on October 1, 2025.
