North Carolina S1086 mandates that filers report the identity of the original source of funds, the amounts, and any intermediaries for donations exceeding $6,800 in an election. This applies to political committees receiving more than $6,800 from any one person. The bill defines "original source" as an individual contributing wages, investment income, or bequests, or a person contributing money from ordinary commercial transactions. This act becomes effective upon becoming law and applies to donations made thereafter.
