S.1059

Military Family Food Security & Readiness Act

Introduced·4/30/26

Military Family Food Security & Readiness Act provides nutritional support for military families during deployment or activation.

The Military Family Food Security & Readiness Act aims to support military families during periods of deployment or activation by providing temporary nutritional assistance. It increases the income eligibility threshold for food and nutrition benefits by up to 25% for eligible military households. If federal approval is not granted, the Department will implement a State-funded supplemental nutrition program. The act also seeks to exclude certain military allowances from income calculations to prevent inflation of household income.
