Chiropractic Abuse of Costs

Introduced·4/30/26

Limits costs for disciplinary actions by the North Carolina State Board of Chiropractic Examiners to $2,000 and mandates accurate meeting minutes.

This bill revises the North Carolina General Statutes to limit the costs charged by the North Carolina State Board of Chiropractic Examiners in disciplinary actions to a maximum of $2,000. It also mandates that the Board keep accurate minutes of its official meetings, including summaries of reports and public comments. Any agreement to pay more than $2,000 in costs is void and unenforceable. The changes apply to disciplinary actions taken on or after October 1, 2026.
