Changes duties and responsibilities of the Office of the State Auditor in North Carolina.

The bill revises the duties and responsibilities of the Office of the State Auditor in North Carolina. It mandates that the Auditor may contract with federal audit agencies or any governmental agencies for audits of federal grants and programs administered by State agencies. The Auditor can also charge and collect the actual cost of these audits. Additionally, the Auditor may enter into agreements with the State Bureau of Investigation and the Conference of District Attorneys for subject-matter expertise and assistance in auditing Medicaid providers and handling financial crimes.
