Establishes the Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team within the North Carolina Department of Public Safety to assist in disaster response.

The bill establishes the Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team (DMORT) within the Division of Emergency Management of the Department of Public Safety. DMORT's primary goal is to respond to disaster areas or mass fatality incidents to identify victims, reunite them with family members, recover and decontaminate victims, and transport deceased individuals to their counties of residence. DMORT consists of licensed and trained professionals, including funeral directors, medical examiners, and forensic specialists.
