Increases punishment for assaulting teachers and school volunteers in North Carolina.

This bill increases the punishment for assaulting a school employee or volunteer in North Carolina. It classifies such assaults as a Class A1 misdemeanor, and a Class I felony if the assault results in physical injury. The bill also protects school personnel from civil or criminal liability if they take reasonable actions in good faith to end a fight or altercation between students. The act becomes effective December 1, 2025.
