Establishes a commission to study teacher compensation in North Carolina compared to other states.

The bill establishes the Joint Legislative Commission on Market Rate Compensation for Teachers to study and report on public school teacher compensation in North Carolina compared to other states. The Commission will analyze starting and average salaries, benefits, wage gaps, attrition rates, and the impact of salary supplements and county-level funding on teacher retention and recruitment. The Commission will hold public meetings in different regions of the state and submit a final report by the end of the 2026 Regular Session of the General Assembly.
