H746

Limited Immunity/Nurses

Introduced·4/2/25

North Carolina H746 provides limited immunity to registered nurses acting under the supervision of a health care provider.

North Carolina H746 amends the state's General Statutes to provide limited immunity to registered nurses who act under the supervision of a health care provider. This immunity shields nurses from medical malpractice claims if they follow the orders of a supervising health care provider, except in cases of gross negligence, wanton conduct, or intentional wrongdoing. Nurses acting independently of a supervising health care provider are not covered by this immunity. The act applies to acts or omissions occurring after the law's effective date.
