The North Carolina Reclaiming College Education on America's Constitutional Heritage Act mandates that students at University of North Carolina constituent institutions and community colleges complete at least three credit hours of American history or government to graduate. Courses must include reading foundational documents such as the U.S. Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, and a final exam comprising at least 20% of the course grade.
