The Michael Mitchke F.I.N.E. Law requires the Chief Medical Examiner or a designated pathologist to perform an autopsy in cases related to a fire incident where human remains are found. This law also mandates that a complete autopsy report be submitted promptly to the Chief Medical Examiner. The act becomes effective October 1, 2025, and applies to cases arising on or after that date.
