Allows North Carolina taxpayers to enroll in the organ donation program via their income tax return.

This bill allows North Carolina taxpayers to enroll in the organ donation program by making an election on their income tax return. The tax return form will include a section for this purpose. The Department of Revenue and the Department of Transportation, Division of Motor Vehicles, will coordinate to update the Organ Donor Registry. This act is effective for tax returns for taxable years beginning on or after January 1, 2026.
