Establishes the Accessing Midwives Act to regulate Certified Professional Midwives in North Carolina.

The Accessing Midwives Act establishes the North Carolina Council of Midwives to regulate Certified Professional Midwives. The Council sets fees, issues licenses, and enforces disciplinary actions. Licensed midwives must complete educational and clinical training, maintain certifications, and adhere to the National Association of Certified Professional Midwives Standards of Practice. The Council also sets a formulary for drugs and devices appropriate for midwifery care. The act becomes effective October 1, 2025.
