North Carolina H418 requires local school administrative units to offer instruction in music, dance, theatre, and visual arts for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The instruction must meet specific criteria, including being taught by licensed instructors, occurring on at least one instructional day out of every five, and lasting at least 30 consecutive minutes. Classes must not exceed the maximum classroom size per instructional session for each grade. This act becomes effective when it becomes law and applies starting with the 2026-2027 school year.
