Allows employees to use sick leave for family member care.
The KinCare Act amends the Wage and Hour Act to allow employees to use their accrued sick leave for the care of family members. This includes children, grandchildren, siblings, spouses, domestic partners, civil union partners, parents, and grandparents. The leave can be used for up to five consecutive days per calendar year. The act does not extend the maximum period of leave under the federal Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993.
