North Carolina prohibits using public funds to buy U.S. or state flags unless they are 100% made in the USA.

North Carolina H227 mandates that public funds cannot be used to purchase flags of the United States or the State of North Carolina unless these flags are entirely manufactured in the United States. This includes all articles, materials, or supplies used in the flag's production, which must also be grown or produced in the United States. The law applies to purchases made on or after October 1, 2025.
