Town of Mooresville/Property Conveyance

Chamber Passed·3/19/25

Authorizes the Town of Mooresville to convey real property for affordable housing, veteran housing, and emergency responder housing.

This bill amends the Charter of Mooresville to allow the Town to convey real property for increasing the supply of housing for low- and moderate-income persons, veterans, and emergency responders. The conveyance must be authorized by a resolution from the Board of Commissioners and posted on the Town's website for at least 10 days before execution. The deed may include a restriction that the property reverts to the Town if it ceases to be used for the authorized housing purposes. The act becomes effective upon becoming law.
