Counties/Franchise Ambulance Service

Introduced·2/25/25

Repeals law allowing counties to franchise ambulance services and exempts county officials from approving care level changes by non-city EMS.

This bill repeals the law that allows counties to franchise ambulance services. It also exempts county officials from needing to approve modifications in the level of care provided by emergency medical services (EMS) providers that are not owned or operated by a city within the county or the county responsible for the emergency management system. This change applies to any modifications in the level of care occurring after the act becomes law.
