This bill allows Gates County Schools to align their school calendar with the College of the Albemarle. Local boards of education may set the opening date for students no earlier than the Monday closest to August 19, provided there is good cause. The closing date for students must be no later than the Friday closest to June 11. The bill applies beginning with the 2025-2026 school year.
