Modernize the language of the law of the land clause in the North Carolina Constitution.

This bill proposes to amend Article I, Section 19, of the North Carolina Constitution to modernize the language of the law of the land clause. The amendment will be presented to voters in the November 3, 2026, statewide general election. If approved by a majority vote, it will update the clause to ensure no person is deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law and guarantees equal protection under the law, prohibiting discrimination based on race, color, religion, or national origin.
