North Carolina H1084 redefines an electric assisted bicycle as a two or three-wheeled vehicle with a motor of no more than 750 watts. It permits these bicycles on all roadways, bicycle lanes, and shared-use paths. The bill also mandates helmet use for riders under 18 on Class 1 and Class 2 electric assisted bicycles.
