Remote Instruction for Excess Emergencies

Allows public schools in North Carolina to use additional remote instruction days during emergencies.

North Carolina H1026 allows public schools to use up to three additional remote instruction days during emergencies, on top of the existing allowance. This applies to schools that have already used their permitted remote instruction days due to emergencies. The bill also appropriates $5,000 for administrative costs and technical assistance related to enforcing this act. The changes take effect starting with the 2026-2027 school year.
