New Mexico HB299 provides $350 million for the second phase of a road infrastructure project on U.S. Highway 180, expanding the highway from two to four lanes between the cities of Bayard and Deming. The funds will be used for acquisition of rights of way, planning, and construction. Any unexpended balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2029 will revert to the general fund.
