Chamber Passed·2/11/26
Introduced Text

New Mexico HB120 limits student restraint and seclusion in public schools.

New Mexico HB120 addresses the use of physical restraint and seclusion in public schools. It prohibits seclusion without continuous supervision, chemical restraint, mechanical restraint, and prone restraint. Physical restraint and seclusion are allowed only if a student's behavior poses an imminent danger of serious physical harm and less restrictive interventions are insufficient. Schools must establish policies and procedures for training, documentation, and review of restraint and seclusion incidents.
