Designates May 1st as "Silver Star Service Banner Day" in New Jersey to honor service members and veterans.

New Jersey SJR90 designates May 1st of each year as "Silver Star Service Banner Day" to honor and remember the sacrifices made by service members and veterans. This day recognizes the physical, emotional, and financial costs of wounds and illnesses sustained during combat or as a result of service. The Silver Star Service Banner, a symbol of these sacrifices, can be displayed by service members, veterans, or their families. The Governor is requested to issue a proclamation annually, calling upon public officials and citizens to observe the day with appropriate activities and programs.
