S.Con.Res.45

Urges Congress to pass "Fix Our Forests Act."

Introduced·1/13/26
Introduced Text

Urges Congress to pass the "Fix Our Forests Act" to reduce wildfire risk in New Jersey.

The resolution urges Congress to pass the "Fix Our Forests Act," which aims to create an interagency Fireshed Center to assess and predict wildfire risk using data. This data-driven approach would help New Jersey make strategic decisions about land management practices to decrease the risk of wildfires. The act would also facilitate environmental reviews for accepted forest management practices, limit litigation involving fireshed management projects, promote livestock grazing in forests, require a study on pine beetle infestations, and promote strategies to strengthen the domestic seed.
