Introduced·1/9/24
Introduced Text

Exempts volunteer fire companies from paying the annual charitable registration fee.

This bill amends the "Charitable Registration and Investigation Act" to exempt volunteer fire companies from paying the annual registration fee. The Attorney General sets these fees for charitable and non-profit organizations based on revenue, ranging from $30 to $250. Volunteer fire companies are not currently exempt from this fee, but would be if the bill is enacted. This exemption does not relieve volunteer fire companies of their obligation to register as non-profit organizations.
