New Jersey S860 provides immunity from liability for law enforcement officers, firefighters, and other emergency personnel who break into a motor vehicle to rescue an animal they reasonably believe is in immediate danger. This exemption applies when breaking into the vehicle is the last resort to prevent serious injury or death to the animal. The act takes effect immediately upon enactment.
