The bill amends the law to extend military leave of absence for public officers and employees to those serving on federal active duty in the United States Coast Guard Reserve. Currently, public officers and employees serving in other reserve components of the Armed Forces are entitled to a leave of absence without loss of pay or time. This bill corrects the omission and allows members of the Coast Guard Reserve to enjoy the same benefit. The leave is limited to 30 work days in any calendar year.
