New Jersey S806 allows members of PERS, TPAF, PFRS, and SPRS to purchase retirement credit for their enrollment period in a U.S.

New Jersey S806 amends existing laws to permit members of the Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS), Teachers’ Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF), Police and Firemen’s Retirement System (PFRS), and State Police Retirement System (SPRS) to purchase retirement credit for their enrollment period in a U.S. military service academy. The academies include the United States Military Academy, the United States Naval Academy, the United States Air Force Academy, and the United States Coast Guard Academy. Members can pay for this credit in installments over a maximum of 10 years.
