Exempts birthing facilities from certain health care practitioner referral restrictions.

This bill exempts birthing facilities from restrictions on health care practitioners referring patients to services in which the practitioner has a significant beneficial interest. The exemption applies to birthing facilities licensed by the Department of Health to provide birthing and newborn care services. The bill also requires practitioners to provide patients with a written disclosure form if they are permitted to refer patients to a health care service. The act takes effect immediately.
