Introduced Text

New Jersey S778 authorizes schools to administer commercial driver license exams and other motor vehicle services for school bus drivers.

New Jersey S778 amends existing law to allow school districts to administer commercial driver license exams and other motor vehicle services for school bus drivers, subject to rules and regulations by the Chief Administrator of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission. The bill requires the MVC to implement a program promoting the administration of these services at school facilities and mandates coordination with school districts. The road test remains the responsibility of the MVC, not the school districts.
