New Jersey S774 introduces provisions for consumers to cancel health club services subscriptions and contracts more easily. The bill requires subscription service providers to offer an online option for terminating subscriptions entered into online. Consumers can cancel within three days of signing a contract by mail, phone, or in person. The bill also allows consumers to cancel if they move more than 25 miles from the health club or if the facility is closed for over 30 days. Refunds must be issued within 30 days of cancellation notice. The act takes effect three months after enactment.
