This bill expands the eligibility for temporary restraining orders to include victims of stalking of any age or mental capacity. Currently, only victims under 18, developmentally disabled, or with certain mental impairments can apply for such orders. This change allows any alleged victim of stalking to apply for a temporary restraining order, providing immediate protection before a conviction is secured. The temporary order remains in effect until either the defendant is convicted or the victim requests its dismissal.
