New Jersey S752 allows municipalities, counties, school districts, and political subdivisions to withdraw from civil service.

New Jersey S752 permits municipalities, counties, school districts, and political subdivisions to rescind the adoption of Title 11A, Civil Service, by ordinance, resolution, or referendum. If rescinded, these entities cannot readopt the provisions of Title 11A for at least five years and may do so only once. Employees hired before the rescission remain eligible for civil service benefits, while those hired after are not. The rescission takes effect six months after the ordinance, resolution, or referendum is passed.
