Waives 15-day waiting period for medical aid in dying for terminally ill patients not expected to survive 15 days.

This bill amends the medical aid in dying law to waive the 15-day waiting period between the initial and second oral requests for terminally ill patients who are not expected to survive for 15 days. The attending physician must document the medical basis for this determination. The bill retains the 48-hour waiting period between the submission of a written request and the issuance of a prescription. The attending physician must also recommend the patient participate in a consultation concerning treatment options and ensure certain items are included in the patient's medical record.
